I don't get out much these days. After a harrowing experience investigating child trafficking, I've become somewhat of a hermit. But every now and then, I have to brave the outside world. And what I see is deeply disturbing.
The America I used to know is dying. Main Street is being fed into the corporate beast, replaced by soulless big box stores like Dollar General. Every town looks the same now - the unique character and community spirit snuffed out, replaced by a cookie-cutter conformity.
This isn't just an economic shift. It's a spiritual battle for the heart and soul of our nation. The Bible warns of a time when "men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud..." (2 Timothy 3:2) Does that not describe the corporate greed and rampant materialism consuming our communities?
The Watchman's Warning As a Christian journalist, I feel a grave responsibility to sound the alarm. Time is short, and the signs of the end times are all around us. The Bible is clear that before the return of Christ, there will be a Great Tribulation like the world has never seen (Matthew 24:21). And the death of small-town America may be one of those signs.
Ezekiel 7 speaks of a day when "Doom has come to you, you who dwell in the land!" (v.2) The prophet describes a time of economic collapse, social upheaval, and spiritual apostasy. Sound familiar? Just look around - the America we once knew is being systematically dismantled.
A Final Chance to Turn Back But friends, there is still hope. This is a final wake-up call for the Church to repent, return to our first love, and prepare our hearts for the difficult days ahead. The Lord is merciful, and if we humble ourselves, He may yet delay the coming calamity.
So I urge you - do not be deceived by the siren song of materialism and worldly success. Cling to your faith, strengthen your spiritual foundations, and be ready. For the time is short, and America's doom may be looming closer than we think.
"The truth doesn't hide. It waits for those brave enough to look."
