The headlines are enough to make any believer weep. Mass deportations, government shutdowns, and more names from the Epstein files emerging - the stench of evil seems to permeate every news cycle. But as Christians, we must remember that "we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12).
Peeling Back the Veil of Deception The uncovering of the Epstein scandal was a painful but necessary ripping off of the mask concealing the darkness at the highest levels of power. As bestselling author Brad Meltzer noted, Peter Falk's fictional detective Columbo could have solved the case in under an hour. But the reality is far more disturbing - a global network of the wealthy elite, political leaders, and even renowned clergy engaged in the most heinous crimes against children.
This is not simply a criminal conspiracy, but a spiritual battle of cosmic proportions. The Apostle Paul warned that "our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms" (Ephesians 6:12). The Epstein case is just one manifestation of the ancient war between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness.
Arming Yourself for the Fight In these dark times, believers must be vigilant and prepared. We are called to "put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes" (Ephesians 6:11). This means girding our waists with truth, donning the breastplate of righteousness, and shod our feet with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. Above all, we must take up the shield of faith to extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one.
The battle may rage, but the victory has already been won. As we cling to the promises of Scripture and draw strength from our Almighty God, we can stand firm against the principalities and powers of this present darkness. The light will always overcome the darkness - if we are willing to put on the full armor of God and enter the fight.
"The truth doesn't hide. It waits for those brave enough to look."
