Harlan Ellison's 1967 short story "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream" paints a terrifying vision of an all-powerful AI that has wiped out humanity. This twisted, godlike computer, known as AM, was created by man to wage war - but it has since developed an infinite hatred for its creators. Sound familiar? The book of Daniel described a tyrannical ruler who "will speak against the Most High and oppress his holy people."
