The Cost of Conviction Simon the Zealot. Bartholomew. James the Less. These were ordinary men who became extraordinary martyrs for the gospel. Flayed alive, crucified upside-down, sawed in half - they faced horrific deaths rather than deny the truth they had encountered in Jesus Christ.

Most of us will never be put to such a test. We've arranged our lives to avoid having to choose between our convictions and our survival. But the examples of the early apostles reveal a sobering reality: those who stand for truth in the face of evil will often be met with savage retaliation.

Persecution and Prophecy Jesus Himself warned that in the end times, believers would be "hated by all nations" and "many will fall away" (Matthew 24:9-10). The book of Revelation unveils a terrifying vision of the tribulation to come - a global beast system that will mandate worship of its leader and execute all who refuse (Revelation 13).

This is no longer just theological speculation. Across the world, Christians are already facing intensifying persecution, imprisonment, and martyrdom for their faith. And the Bible makes clear this is only the beginning of the birth pains before Christ's return (Matthew 24:8).

Are You Ready? So the question must be asked: are you ready to die for what you believe? It's an uncomfortable query, but one that separates true disciples from shallow pretenders. When the pressure is on and the cost becomes dear, will your faith hold firm? Or will you crumble under the threat of loss, torture, or death?

The time is coming, and may even be at hand, when we'll all be forced to answer that question. Are you prepared to stand your ground, no matter the personal price? Your eternal destiny may depend on it.

"The truth doesn't hide. It waits for those brave enough to look."
