The End Times Are Upon Us I don't leave my bunker much these days. After getting shanked while investigating a child trafficking ring out West, I developed a nasty case of PTSD. Now I rely on Amazon deliveries to survive, only venturing out when I absolutely have to.
Today was one of those days. I bundled up, hopped on my e-scooter, and zipped down to the local Dollar General. As soon as I walked through those fluorescent-lit doors, I knew something wasn't right. The stench of plastic and chemicals burned my nostrils. Everything looked slightly...poisonous.
This isn't the America I grew up in. Small-town Main Streets are dying, consumed by the corporate machine. Dollar General rises from the ashes like a harbinger of the apocalypse. And I'm not the only one who sees it.
The Disturbing Spread of Dollar General According to my research, there are now over 18,000 Dollar General stores across the country - more than McDonald's and Starbucks combined. These cheap, cookie-cutter big box stores are popping up in every small town, crowding out local businesses and draining the lifeblood from our communities.
It's not an accident. This is a calculated corporate takeover, engineered to maximize profits at the expense of our souls. Dollar General targets lower-income areas, positioning themselves as the only option for groceries and essentials. Main Street dies. The Dollar General rises. Rinse and repeat in town after town.
A Biblical Warning Fulfilled I can't help but see the parallels to biblical prophecy. The book of Revelation describes a one-world economic system controlled by a "beast" - a tyrannical, dehumanizing force that stamps out all local autonomy and individual identity. Sound familiar?
"No one could buy or sell unless he had the mark of the beast." (Revelation 13:17) Does that not describe our growing reliance on digital currency and the pervasive surveillance state?
The prophet Isaiah also warned of a time when "the countryside is ruined, the land lies desolate and empty" (Isaiah 24:3). As I look around at the boarded-up storefronts and vacant lots, I can't help but wonder - is this the fulfillment of that ancient prophecy?
The Death of the American Dream My heart breaks for the small business owners whose livelihoods have been destroyed. I think of the workers whose jobs have been outsourced or downsized. This isn't just the death of Main Street - it's the death of the American Dream.
Unless we rise up and fight back, the very soul of our nation will be consumed by this corporate beast. The time for action is now. The end times may be upon us, but that doesn't mean we have to go down without a fight.
"The truth doesn't hide. It waits for those brave enough to look."
