I don't leave my house much anymore. After getting stabbed investigating a child trafficking operation out west a few years back, I developed severe PTSD and became something of a hermit. But every now and then, I need to brave the great outdoors.

Today was one of those days. I bundled up against the freezing winter temperatures, climbed on my e-scooter, and zipped down to the local Dollar General. The fluorescent lights and vaguely chemical smell hit me as soon as I walked in. It felt more like an institutional facility than a store - and that's exactly the point.

America's Small Towns Sacrificed to Corporate Greed

Across the country, we're witnessing the systematic destruction of small town America. Main Street businesses are being systematically driven out, replaced by faceless retail chains like Dollar General. Once vibrant communities are being fed into the corporate machine, their unique souls consumed for profit.

This disturbing trend is not just an economic issue - it has profound spiritual and prophetic implications. The Bible clearly warns of a coming "Beast" system that will seek to control all buying and selling. Could the dominance of corporate juggernauts like Dollar General be a harbinger of this global totalitarian rule?

A System Designed to Dehumanize

The Dollar General business model is engineered to maximize profits at the expense of local economies and community identity. Their stores are intentionally designed to feel cold, impersonal and slightly toxic - stripping away the warmth and character of traditional small town commerce.

This reflects a deeper dehumanization happening across our culture. As the middle class is hollowed out and unique local businesses are driven extinct, we're left with a homogenized, soulless landscape where giant faceless corporations call all the shots. It's the perfect environment for the rise of an authoritarian "Beast" system to take root.

A Final Warning Before the End?

In the Book of Revelation, the Apostle John prophesied of a time when "no one could buy or sell" without submitting to the mark of the Beast. The dominance of companies like Dollar General, combined with the rapid digitization of the economy, may be setting the stage for the fulfillment of this chilling vision.

Are we witnessing the death throes of the American Dream - and the birth pangs of a new global order foretold in Scripture? If so, the time to wake up and heed the biblical warnings is now. The return of Christ could be closer than we think.
