I don't leave my house much anymore. After getting stabbed investigating a child trafficking ring out west, I developed severe PTSD and became a full-time hermit. But every now and then, I have to venture into the wasteland we call civilization. And what I see fills me with dread.

The Death of Main Street Small-town America is being systematically dismantled and fed into the corporate machine. On my recent trip to the local Dollar General, the harsh fluorescent lights and chemical stench hit me first. This is not the America I grew up in. This is something sinister.

Daniel's Disturbing Prophecy The prophet Daniel foresaw this day long ago. He described a terrifying vision of a "fourth kingdom" that would "devour the whole earth" (Daniel 7:23). This kingdom would "trample and crush" everything in its path. Does that not describe the ruthless expansion of multinational corporations like Dollar General?

The Isaiah Warning The prophet Isaiah also issued a grave warning about the death of Main Street. "Woe to those who join house to house, who add field to field, until there is no more room, and you are made to dwell alone in the midst of the land" (Isaiah 5:8). Doesn't that sound like the corporate takeover of small-town America?

A Revelation of the End Times The book of Revelation paints an even more chilling picture. It describes a "beast" that will control all economic activity - "no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark" (Revelation 13:17). Is the cashless, surveillance economy we now live in not the fulfillment of this ancient prophecy?

Wake Up, Church! The technology exists right now to track every transaction, implant brain chips, and turn our towns into soulless corporate fiefdoms. The warning signs are all around us. Will the church heed the call and rise up to defend our communities? Or will we sleepwalk into the tribulation?

"The truth doesn't hide. It waits for those brave enough to look."
