Take Daniel's prophecy, for example. He foretold a coming "king" who would "do as he pleases" and "exalt and magnify himself above every god." Doesn't that sound an awful lot like the power-hungry technocrats of today?

And what about Isaiah's warning of a time when "the people will be oppressed, everyone by another and every man by his neighbor?" Neighbors spying on neighbors, reporting dissent to the authorities. Sound familiar?
