This parable is a chilling allegory for our times. For years, prophets and watchmen have been sounding the alarm about the imminent danger facing our world. But like the villagers, many believers have grown tired of the warnings and turned a deaf ear.
The Gathering Darkness Just look around. The economic foundations are crumbling, with record inflation, supply chain disruptions, and the looming threat of a historic recession. Morality is in freefall, with the normalization of things like transgenderism, abortion on demand, and rampant sexual perversion. And on the global stage, we see the beginnings of the birth pangs - war, rumors of war, and the rise of authoritarian regimes.
These are the signs Jesus warned us to watch for - the harbingers of His return and the coming tribulation. Yet most people remain oblivious, lulled into a false sense of security. They refuse to see the "wolves" gathering, just as the villagers ignored the shepherd boy's cries.
A Watchman's Duty But God has raised up watchmen to sound the alarm. We are called to be like Ezekiel, warning the people so that their blood is not on our hands. These are not idle threats or doomsday fantasies - these are the unmistakable signs of the end times, foretold in biblical prophecy.
