On Saturday morning in Minneapolis, federal agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) pepper sprayed a woman in the face at point-blank range. Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse, stepped in to help her. Multiple agents surrounded him, beat him while he was on the ground, and shot him multiple times. He died at the hospital.

Now the Department of Homeland Security wants you to believe he was a violent threat who attacked federal officers with a loaded firearm. Secretary Kristi Noem stood before cameras and described how Pretti approached officers "menacingly with a semi-automatic handgun with dozens of rounds of ammunition."

That single sentence proves she's lying. How exactly do you SEE dozens of rounds? Ammunition is inside the magazine, which is inside the gun. Unless Pretti was holding a box of loose ammo, there's no way to visually confirm that detail.

This blatant falsehood is troubling, but it also speaks to a much larger pattern we're seeing play out in our society. Conflicts between government agents and citizens are escalating, with both sides hardening their positions and growing more willing to use force.

From a biblical perspective, these kinds of clashes are precisely the kind of signs we should expect to see as we approach the end times and the return of Christ. The book of Matthew warns that "nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom" as the birth pains of the Tribulation period begin.

Just as Jesus foretold, we're witnessing increasing "wars and rumors of wars," as well as "lawlessness" and a breakdown of social order. Federal agents are becoming more militarized and less restrained, while citizens are growing more distrustful and confrontational. This volatile mix creates an environment ripe for further violence and conflict.

The Pretti shooting is a microcosm of these troubling trends. It reveals a government apparatus that is becoming more heavy-handed, dishonest, and dismissive of human life. And it's a sobering reminder that we may be entering a period of heightened turmoil before the final cosmic battle between good and evil.
