The Wolves Are Howling 40% of Americans believe we're living in the "end times" prophesied in the Bible. That's a startling statistic - one that should have every Christian sitting up and paying attention.
The signs are all around us. Rampant godlessness. Global unrest. Technological advancements that seem straight out of the book of Revelation. It's enough to send a chill down your spine.
But are these just the paranoid ravings of religious fanatics? Or could there be something more to these dire warnings from the prophets of old?
The Handwriting on the Wall The book of Daniel paints a terrifying picture of the future. Four great kingdoms will rise and fall, ushering in a final world empire ruled by a despot known as the Antichrist. Sound familiar?
Daniel's visions describe a leader who will "speak against the Most High and oppress his holy people." He'll have "eyes like the eyes of a human and a mouth that speaks boastfully." Does this not sound chillingly similar to the narcissistic strongmen dominating global politics today?
The prophet also foretells a time of "great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now." A period of unparalleled suffering, conflict, and persecution of believers. The "Great Tribulation" that Jesus himself warned about.
Connecting the Dots Just look around. Rampant secularism. The marginalization of Christianity. Exploding global tensions. Technological innovations that could enable total surveillance and control. It's as if the puzzle pieces of Daniel's apocalyptic vision are snapping into place.
And let's not forget the COVID-19 pandemic - a global crisis that has shaken the world to its core. Could this be the "birth pains" that Jesus spoke of, signaling the start of the end times?
The Wise and the Foolish Bible scholars have long debated the timing of these end-time events. Some see them as centuries away. Others believe we're on the precipice of the final countdown.
But Jesus himself warned, "Keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour." The time to prepare is now. Will you be among the wise who heed the warning signs? Or will you be caught unawares, like the foolish virgins in His parable?
The choice is yours. But the wolves are at the door. Are you ready to face them?
"The truth doesn't hide. It waits for those brave enough to look."
