"And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." (Revelation 13:16-17)

I don't leave my bunker much these days. Not since I got jumped by that child trafficking ring a few years back. But every now and then, I have no choice. Today was one of those days - I had to brave the treacherous outdoors and make a run to the local Dollar General.

As I stepped into that fluorescent-lit hellscape, I couldn't help but feel like I was witnessing the slow death of the American soul. Row after row of cheap plastic goods, all made overseas. Checkout counters plastered with tabloid headlines and discount offers. The smells of processed food and chemical cleaning products. It's enough to make a man question if we're living in the end times.

The Rise of the Discount Overlords The Dollar General empire continues its relentless march across the nation. What was once a rural phenomenon has now invaded even the most quaint small towns. They've become the new anchor tenants, the de facto town square, where the last vestiges of Main Street commerce go to die.

"Every town the same. Every soul consumed," as the original article so aptly put it. Walmart may have been the first harbinger, but Dollar General is taking it to a whole new level. With over 18,000 locations nationwide, they're on a mission to become the new face of "community" in America.

The Mark of the Beast? But is this just another example of soulless corporatism run amok? Or could it be something more sinister - a fulfillment of biblical end-times prophecy? After all, the Book of Revelation speaks of a "mark of the beast" that will be required for all to buy and sell.

"And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name."

The chilling parallels are hard to ignore. A global digital currency. Brain chips embedded in the forehead. The ability to "buy or sell" dependent on compliance with the system. It's enough to send shivers down the spine of any true believer.

The Great Reset Begins Of course, the powers-that-be would dismiss such claims as tin-foil hat conspiracy theories. But the evidence is mounting. The COVID-19 pandemic. The push for a "great reset" of the global economy. The accelerating erosion of small businesses and local communities.

Are we really just witnessing the natural evolution of capitalism, or is something more sinister at play? As the Dollar General juggernaut continues to steamroll across the land, I can't help but wonder - is the soul of America being consumed in real time? And if so, what does that mean for the future of our country, and the world?

"The truth doesn't hide. It waits for those brave enough to look."
