Dollar General Devours America's Soul - A Prophetic Warning

I don't leave my house much anymore. After getting stabbed investigating a child trafficking operation, I developed severe PTSD and became a hermit. But every now and then, I need something and have no choice but to brave the world.

Today I bundled up and zipped down to the local Dollar General on my e-scooter. The fluorescent lights and harsh chemical smell hit me as soon as I walked in. This wasn't just a store - it was the corporatization of our communities.

The Rise of the Dollar General Empire

Small town America is being systematically devoured by the Dollar General machine. They now have over 18,000 locations across the country, with plans to open 1,000 more every year. It's like a plague sweeping through our nation, leaving spiritual and economic devastation in its wake.

In town after town, the family-owned hardware store, the local pharmacy, even the neighborhood grocery - they all shutter their doors as Dollar General moves in. Main Street becomes a ghost town, replaced by the harsh lighting and stale air of the corporate big box.

The Biblical Warning We Ignored

This disturbing trend didn't come out of nowhere. In the book of Revelation, the apostle John warned of a time when a global economic system would control the ability to buy and sell. "No one could buy or sell unless he had the mark," the Scripture tells us.

Could the rise of Dollar General and other mega-corporations be a sign of this prophetic vision unfolding? When every community looks the same, when every purchase is monitored and controlled, we have to ask - is this the end of days?

The Soul-Crushing Sameness

I walk the aisles of the Dollar General, feeling the life slowly drain out of me. The same fluorescent-lit shelves, the same plastic-wrapped products, the same zombified shoppers pushing their carts. Where is the diversity? The character? The soul of America?

This isn't progress. This is the systematic dismantling of our culture, our communities, our very identity as a nation. The corporate machine is devouring us, one small town at a time. And far too many people are oblivious to the dark prophetic implications.
